Simultaneous Virtual World Hearing Room in Second Life

 

The first-ever Congressional hearing on virtual worlds took place on April 1 in Washington.  Linden Lab® CEO Philip Rosedale testified before the House Subcommittee on Telecommunications and the Internet.  As part of his presentation, Mr. Rosedale presented a seven-minute machinima produced by Silver and Goldie.

"Second Life: Get One" shown at Emmys

 

On January 8, Philip Linden collected a Technology Emmy Award for Second Life®  in the field of user-created-content. The presentation was introduced with a forty-second segment  from our 2006 Trailer Award Winner, Second Life: Get One  We were extremely honored that our work was shown to represent all the incredibly creative Second Life residents.®

Silver and Goldie Shoot SL™ Footage for Discovery Channel

 

Machinima by Silver and Goldie shot footage in the Second Life® virtual world for the 5-part Discovery Channel series, "Rise of the Video Game," which began airing in North America on  November 21, 2007.  Our machinima footage illustrates virtual worlds for the fifth episode  entitled "Level Five."

Public Relations Society of America honors Silver and Goldie

 


Machinima by Silver and Goldie owners Beverly and David Lang received the Pinnacle Award in Electronic Media at the 2007 PACE Awards announced in April.  The award, sponsored by the Mid-Michigan Chapter of PRSA, recognizes the Langs’ innovative use of virtual world technologies in the evolution of their real world business.
